Welcome to Phil White Charters, the place you need to come for a great day out fishing from the beautiful old fishing port of Brixham with one of the most experienced and friendly skippers on the east coast, this is a new adventure for me but it is an exciting time and i am looking forward to trying new areas and different ways of fishing with wrecks, reef, shark and tuna all on our doorstep !.

Check out our latest video from August 2019 with the guys of ‘From The Waters Edge TV’ where you will find all the action with big smooth hounds on our Video page.

WHERE WE ARE

My new boat Illusion is moored in the beautiful harbour of Brixham right next to the fish market.

My boat is on a swinging mooring, once we have arranged a pick up time please make your way to the visitor’s pontoon which is right in front of the Prince William pub near to the marina.

If you are driving down then head to 39 Berry Head Road TQ5 9AA, when you see the two blue signs for the Prince William pub drop off your gear here and head down the steps, you can see the visitor’s  pontoon straight ahead. Parking is in the Breakwater Beach car park TQ5 9AF just a few hundred yards along the same road then a short walk back along the harbour wall past the marina office. There are toilets there  at 30p and the parking is coinage.

THE SKIPPER

Skipper, Phil White with tope. Charters from Bradwell on Sea, Essex.Let me tell you a bit about myself. I have been a skipper running Charter Angling boats since 1983. For 18 years I was in charge of John Rawle’s boat whilst he worked in the Florida keys for 4 months of the year. Some of you might well have met me then!

I first started sea fishing when I was about 14 on a boat called the Argonaut, skippered by Owen Woolley. I caught my first cod and skate with him and I was hooked! At around 16 years of age I started crewing for John on his boat the Vicky Emma. I took my Boatman’s licence at 18 years of age and have been a skipper ever since. I am now the longest serving charter angling skipper in the Thames Estuary.

I hold an RYA (Royal Yachting Association) Commercially endorsed licence, first aid, sea survival and VHF licences so you can be rest assured that you are in safe hands during your days fishing.

So whether you are a novice or an experienced angler, we cater for all. But don’t take my word for it – check out our reviews on www.charterboats-uk.co.uk
